Raise a Smile with Race for Life

At the heart of Funny Women is our national talent competition, the Funny Women Awards, which is now in its 9^th year. Over the course of the year we have been searching nationwide to discover some of the UK’s brightest and newest talent in female comedy with 12 finalists picked from regional heats to compete in the charity final of this year's Awards on Monday 26^th September 2011 at the Leicester Square Theatre in London.

To mark Funny Women’s relationship with Tesco and Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, a special award has been added to the evening – The Race for Life Real Funny Women Award.

This Award will go to the woman, or women, who has made you smile during a Race for Life event. Family or friends can nominate her/them for their light-hearted, humorous or inspirational approach towards taking part in Race for Life this year. It could be that they have worn wild or wacky outfits when taking part, set themselves an extraordinary goal for the event or generally just shown a positive and spirited attitude.

The winner/s will receive the following fantastic prize package:

• VIP tickets to the Funny Women Awards Charity Final on Monday 26th September
• Transportation for two people to London
• Overnight stay for two people in a Grange Park Hotel in Central London
• Invite to the pre event VIP drinks reception

To nominate somebody for the Race for Life Real Funny Women Award simply email us at real@funnywomen.com with a picture and the following details:

• Your name, address, contact number and email
• The name, email and contact number of the person you are nominating 
• 20 words on why you think they should win the Race for Life Real Funny Women Award
• The Race for Life that the woman/women you are nominating took part in (e.g. Brighton, Hyde Park etc)
• Confirmation that you have the right to use the photo that you are sending in and the person/people in the photo are happy for it to be used by Funny Women and Cancer Research UK 

Competition Terms and Conditions

1. The competition is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, except for anyone directly connected with the planning or administration of the competition.
2. The competition is open until midnight on Wednesday 31 August 2011. 
3. Nominations must include 20 words of explanation as to how those nominated have made them smile and may also include a photo.   
4. Prize details: Winner/s will receive transportation for two people to/from London and one night accommodation in London up to the value of £150 per person, a ticket to the Funny Women Final Awards on Monday 26th September 2011 to include entry to a VIP drinks reception prior to the event. 
5. Winners will be judged by a panel from Funny Women and Cancer Research UK and announced week commencing Monday 5th September 2011.
6. All prizes subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances we reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
7. Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable and no cash alternative will be offered.
8. The entry instructions form part of the rules. By entering, you agree to accept and be bound by the rules.
9. Prizes not claimed within 7 days of the prize winner being notified will be redrawn and awarded to a new winner.
10. Winners must agree to their names and photographs being used for promotional purposes.
11. The names of the winner will be made available for up to 28 days after the draw on the Funny Women Facebook Page and Website

14. Winners must have taken part in Race for Life 2011 to be eligible for nomination.
