NIVEA Funny Women Live is touring the UK during 2008 appearing at major comedy festivals and other favourite comedy locations.
Our first show of the year was a sell out on Saturday 9th February at The Y as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival. For the first time ever we presented all five winners of the Funny Women Awards in one fantastic show! Hosted by everyone’s favourite Take A Break reader, Mrs Barbara Nice. Adams & Rae – featuring Sarah Adams, winner 2003 as Jade the Folk Singer and Leisa Rae of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Zoe Lyons – 2004 and If.comedy Best Newcomer Nominee 2007, Debra Jane Appelby – 2005 and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2005, plus Suzy Bennett 2006 and Andi Osho, 2007.

NIVEA Funny Women Live presented a fantastic show featuring a mix of our favourite acts and newcomers from five years of Awards. The ascerbic Asian wit of leading international comedian, Shazia Mirza was a lively contrast with the dark observational comedy of A L Kennedy, the Glasgow based Scottish novel writer who made her Funny Women debut at the Glasgow Comedy Festival. Fran Healy, star of BBC TV's Scottish soap, River City showed off her award winning comedy credentials and the lilting Irish ranting of Sharon Mannion who was runner up in the 2007 Funny Women Awards, was a big hit. Our diminuitive host with a big voice Susan Calman, continues to be one of proudest Funny Women assets -from pla a finalist in the 2006 Awards she has gone on to appear and host in many of our shows at Edinburgh and around the UK.

If you're itching to give a try but don't quite have the confidence, we are running Funny Women Comedy Workshops between 5.00 and 7.00 p.m. before several of our Awards showcases. This is your chance to give stand up a try under the expert eye of the Funny Women team.
We are taking bookings now for the Birmingham 10th April workshop - £45 per head or discount for group bookings of 10 or more. There's also a special workshop and show combined ticket - price tbc.
