I have a friend who is obsessed with RuPaul’s Drag Race and all of the sassy gifs it’s spawned on Tumblr. Clearly someone fabulous at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern has the same TV show on the brain, as the venue’s Christmas panto this year is ‘Jack – Sissy That Stalk!’. A clear play on the “sissy that walk!” mantra that became the title of a very pink RuPaul single.

We’d expect nothing less from the oldest surviving gay venue in South London. If you thought panto was a bit camp then get ready for a show more flamboyant than a Christmas tree onesie.

2012 Funny Women Awards finalist Viv Groskop is launching a new improv night Comedy Royale in the very classy cabaret venue St James Studio, featuring some of the best improvisers around. 

The first outing of Comedy Royale is next week on Thursday 27th November and it's hosted by People People an improvised double act with Viv Groskop and award-winning comic actor Kerry Shale (Life’s Too Short, Red Dwarf).

She's been across the pond in New York for too long and now finally Comedian Gina Yashere has announced a brand new tour of the UK called 'Laugh Riot'!

We can't wait to catch her new set and Gina told her fans she is "looking forward to getting back on the road in the UK with all my new stories."

Kicking off in March 2015 Gina will be taking 'Laugh Riot' across the UK from Oxford to Manchester to Brighton, you can check to see if she is coming to a venue near you on her site here!

We like to keep up with those funny women writers that we think are ones to watch and they never fail to impress us! Sian Rowland who was on our 2013 list of ones to watch has been selected to take part in Bookends, a new writing showcase directed by Scott le Crass at the Etcetera Theatre

Sian's play 'Alice Spings' is one of four new plays to be performed as part of the showcase. It is a contemporary and quirky comedy about the dangers of living your life through social media. The showcase will also feature new writing talent Matt Brothers, Annie Power and Paul Kalburgi.
