Funny Women Award alumni at Musical Comedy Awards Fifth Birthday Party

The Musical Comedy Awards celebrate their fifth birthday this Saturday at The Bloomsbury Theatre in London, and boy do they have a great line-up of hilarious, not to mention harmonious, acts to commemorate half a decade of promoting musical comedians.

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed a few familiar names on the bill as Funny Women Awards alumni. Sooz Kempner, winner of this year’s Variety Award, will be bringing her fantastic voice, trusty keyboard and sharp lyrics, ahead of her show at the Pheasantry next month.

Sarah Adams, who won the Funny Women Awards almost ten years ago (!) as Jade the Folksinger, will be performing with Leisa Rea as double act Adams and Rea.

The evening will be headlined by The Now Show’s Mitch Benn, with Amateur Transplants, Rob Carter, Fair and Square and many more great acts (full line-up available from the MCAs website).
