A chap from The Green Party contacted me last week to offer me a 10 minute slot on a bill headlined by Alistair McGowan, for a Green Party fundraising event. I accepted, and we started exchanging emails to finalise details.

So… once again the debate about women in comedy is fuelled by the announcement of the self styled comedy industry awards, run by online magazine Chortle.
And this latest controversy wasn’t even started by us! The ground swell of opinion emanating from social media circles, chat rooms and even the national press is that the nominations are conspicuously light on female talent, which is quetionable when so many women were nominated and won accolades in the British Comedy Awards in December 2011.

We enjoyed last year’s WOW (Women of the World) Festival so much that in March, we’re coming back! The festival is a celebration of women across the globe with live music, talks, debates, theatre, film and of course some fabulous comedy all taking place at London’s Southbank Centre from Friday 9th – Sunday 11thMarch.
We will have a Funny Women stall in the market place over the weekend, so drop by and say hi any time from Friday 9th- Sunday 11th March.
