Days 5 and 6 at the Fringe

It has been a whirlwind few days so far at the Fringe. As we are all trying to perfect the necessary art of flyering, it appears we may have broken through somewhat with the help of our newest friend, Patsy, lara A king’s VW Campervan.

lara, who won the Funny Women Awards in 2011, has brought her hilarious stand-up show ‘people pleaser’ to the Edinburgh Fringe, which she performed for the first time in Edinburgh yesterday in the first of two preview shows, the second of which is taking place this afternoon!

After a bout of not so lovely weather, the Funny Women team devised a cunning plan to get the crowds of the Fringe excited for the fantastic comedy being showcased here in Edinburgh. Charging to George Street in Patsy, lara slammed on the breaks just outside the Underbelly so us ninja ‘flyerers’ could engage with some action film style moves breaking out of the van. After a few wary glances from people, the passing crowds really got into the spirit and responded to what we were doing. Having lara there to chat along with people so that they really got an idea of what her show was about was magnificent and a lot of fun! Today, we will be out on the streets of Edinburgh again with Patsy, so if you see us, stop and chat to us, we promise to make you laugh!

As well as having the real Patsy the VW Campervan here in Edinburgh, we also have Patsy 2, who is a life size VW Campervan tent that is currently taking up residence on lara’s stage. Generously donated by our friends at retailer JOY, Patsy 2 ties in perfectly with ‘People Pleaser’ and is a fantastic addition to an simply must see show at the Fringe.

Lighting up the stage as soon as she walked on yesterday, lara captivated the audience with her engaging humour that warmed up the great crowd. Using examples of how she is a 'People Pleaser' in everyday life, lara immediately displayed why she is so likeable to an audience. Self-deprecation together with sharp wit can make for a powerful combination!

Lara will be performing at the Bosco Tent, Assembly George Square Gardens TODAY at 2pm! After today’s preview show, lara will be performing a full run here at the Fringe from Saturday 18^th August until Sunday 26^th August. Come on down to this must see show!! Make sure to get your tickets!
