Vodka cocktails and laughs in the City

Back in March this year we held our biggest Comedy Challenge to date in celebration of International Women’s Day and our 10th Anniversary. The evening was hosted by TV’s Kate Garraway who led the audience through 10 acts, all of whom were women from all walks of life, performing comedy for the first time in aid of charity.
We received such amazing feedback from this event and many requests for an ‘action-replay’. So, back by popular demand and with some support from our friends at Snow Queen Vodka, we have decided to hold Funny Women In The City on Thursday 14th June. A night of fabulous comedy, music and fine dining featuring some very special Funny Women guests.
Supporting this show is Snow Queen Vodka. Launched in 2005, Snow Queen Vodka is sauced from the finest ingredients in Kazakhstan, using organic wheat and artesian spring water giving it a fresh, clean taste.
Hosting the evening is business woman-cum-comedienne Julia Streets who acted as a mentor for our Anniversary Challenge, passing on her comedic wisdom to the Challengers.
Headlining the show is comic duo Ladies Live Longer who won last year’s Funny Women Variety Award. They were also mentors of a double act consisting of a couple of nuns in the 10th Anniversary Challenge!
We have also asked back two of the best acts from the Anniversary Challenge who, for a first gig, were astounding. Rowan Pelling was the overall Winner of the Challenge. Rowan’s day job is as sex columnist for the Daily Mail, which made for winning material. We've also asked back ‘The Reinvention Diva’ herself, Sharon Simpson who was a close runner up.
Musical entertainment comes in the form of Four Femmes on the Thames. They added a splash of retro chic to our 10th Anniversary Challenge celebrations and we’re very pleased to see them back. with us again in Hoxton.
This wonderful evening will take place at London's Hoxton Apprentice, on th edge of the City, where we have previously held a Business Challenge event and several comedy evenings. The venue is one of the Apprentice restaurants owned by the charity Training for Life. The charity provides a platform to give people who have rather lost their way in life, a chance to get their lives back on track, learning invaluable skills that will secure them future employment in the hospitality industry. We will be holding a raffle during the evening in support of the charity.
If you would like to come along for a night of fabulous comedy and music entertainment, we'll also tickle your tastebuds with a Snow Queen Vodka cocktail, delicious canapes and brilliant 'bowl food' showcasing a variety of fresh, imaginitive cuisine created by The Apprentice team.
