I’m so excited about getting through to the Funny Women Final, it means I get to perform without being escorted off stage by security.

Stand-up has been an important part of my life. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been writing and enjoying comedy. I was very fortunate to be introduced to professional comedian Deborah Frances-White who gave me great insight into how to develop a career through stand-up.

I have been performing stand-up comedy for 15 months and the experience has changed my life. This year I performed my debut show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival entitled “Please Hold - You’re Being Transferred To A UK Based Asian Representative”. I had a great time and it was fun to speak to my audience after the show. I was featured on BBC Radio 4's Front Row and a producer invited me to perform at the Cape Town Festival 2012.

My act is observational humour about my experiences and being a British Asian growing up in London.

I have always been passionate about performing stand-up and the final is going to be a great night of comedy - not to be missed.
