Funny Women Awards heat - Brighton

Over the past 11 years the Funny Women Awards have discovered some of the best new female comedy talent, with past winners and finalists including Katherine ryan, Andi Osho, and Sarah Millican. Come and see some up-and-coming talent taking part in this first-round heat hosted and headlined by 2012 Funny Women Awards finalists Lucy Frederick and Viv Groskop.
The acts competing to go through to the semi-finals in the hope of being crowned 2013 Funny Women Awards winner will be:

'Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake' at the Brighton Fringe

Have you ever thought about forging a career in comedy, but didn’t know where to start? Want to know how comics and script writers come up with ideas for material? Ever wondered why so many women in comedy tend to be in writing or production rather than performing? Then join Funny Women at Brighton's Komedia for our new panel show, Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake, presented as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival.
The prestigious panel includes some of the top names in the industry who produce, curate and perform comedy. The discussion will be chaired by writer, journalist and 2012 Funny Women Awards finalist Viv Groskop. Other panellists include Lynne Parker founder and executive producer of Funny Women, Hils Jago, founder of Soho-based comedy club and comedy competition Amused Moose, Huffington Post comedy editor Andrea Mann and Lynn Ruth Miller, American stand-up who took to comedy in her 70's and was featured on Britain's Got Talent.

The Funny Women Awards are back! Come and join us for a first round heat in Hull, hosted by the hilarious Amy Gledhill.
The acts will be competing to go through to the semi-finals in the hope of being crowned 2013 Funny Women Awards winner.

Funny Women Introductory Workshop - London
1st June 2013
Enjoy working with other women for a fun packed two hours. Find out how a humorous approach to life can be empowering by introducing you to the techniques of stand up. Even if you don’t fancy yourself as a performer the ‘take away’ is self confidence and enhanced communications skills.
