For Business, We all need a bit of showbiz in our lives...
Challenge all those stereotypes about male executives getting all the laughs! We’ve already proved ourselves in the comedy world, so now we're showing the business community how women can add humour to their armoury of talents. Talk to us about your events, ideas and favourite types of comedy and we will create something for you.
Stand Up to Stand Out
Our Funny Women in Business workshop covers a range of exciting and interactive techniques to help you with presenting and delivering your message in a personal and compelling style. Based on the principals of stand up we show you how to develope ‘material’, overcome nerves and increase your self confidence.
“I have seen how much stand up helps women to become more assertive and confident in their every day lives. We have been running comedy workshops for women alongside the Funny Women Awards for the last two years and our business programme is an extension of this activity,” Lynne Parker, Founder & Executive Producer, Funny Women.
Read about Lynne's approach to communications and presentation skills here in the Guardian - "It is founded on the principals of stand up comedy and, above all, it's lots of FUN - a good way to approach business communication."
If you can succeed at performing stand up comedy in front of an audience, you can succeed at anything..
Enhanced self confidence and the knowledge that you can overcome some of life’s trickier situations with an appropriate injection of humour is a powerful skill. Women often find it harder to use comedy particularly when called upon to speak in public, so we've created a programme designed to bring out the funny in the fairer sex, proven to enhance both self confidence and presentation skills.
Empower the women in your business or organisation by teaching them some of the tricks of the comedy trade. We've taken what we’ve learned through developing and producing live comedy shows for the last eight years and adapted it to your business needs – whether you want a corporate event or an interactive workshop for you and your colleagues. Bringing out your own humorous voice can help to make your presentations memorable and fun for the people you do business with.
We use techniques used in stand-up comedy to coach, train, build teams and improve confidence. We can run workshops or coach you on a one to one basis in your own business environment or a venue of your choice.
If you would like to know more or obtain a quote for a corporate workshop or event please call 020 8948 4444 or email info@funnywomen.com.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
"If you are looking for a team event with a difference you will be delighted with a Funny Women workshop. Facilitated by Lynne Parker, this cleverly designed day takes you on a journey of self discovery and disclosure, allowing time for an intelligent pause, an opportunity to share and a day full of laughter.
"As a team of women working in a predominantly male world, this event has strengthened our relationships, built our confidence and allowed us to be ourselves for 24 hours. I would highly recommend Lynne Parker, her straightforward style has a way of bringing even the quietest person out and a Funny Women workshop is an ideal way to develop yourself, your team and your whole performance."
Steph Oerton, Head of Learning and Development, East Coast Main Line Company
“You really did boost my confidence, allowed me to believe in myself and just be ME. All brilliant and I have recommended you to a couple of people in my team as well!”
Jane Simpson, Regional Vice President, Arbonne
“The exercise we did was hilarious, but with the serious effect of developing strong empathy between participants in a short period of time.”
“None of us knew quite what to expect but within a few minutes we’d all revealed a secret about ourselves and had begun to see each other in an interesting new light. As the evening progressed the storytelling skills of even the most reluctant public speakers were showcased, and there were even a couple of eureka moments. It was a fantastic way to bond together as a group and the workshop is sure to have a much longer-lasting legacy than we might have expected.”
"We are so grateful to Lynne and her team at Funny Women for all their help in making the conference such a tremendous success. We would absolutely recommend Funny Women for any event."
"Lynne Parker’s Stand Up to Stand Out introduction workshop was also very well received by the delegates at our recent conference. We received feedback from a number of the women who attended on how much personal confidence her workshop gave them and how it freed them up when they were speaking in front of a group. It was a perfect session to include in the day and we would definitely recommend Lynne and her team for any event."
Julie Hall, Women Unlimited
"Thanks Lynne, I loved your workshop - it was the perfect start to the day & a great way for us all to learn really important skills."
